The Augustinian Abbey of Neustift in Brixen is one of the largest and most-important monasteries in the Alpine region. When you visit it, you will have the opportunity to obtain fascinating insights into the lifestyle of the canons who lived and toiled here, and whose influence extended far beyond the monastery walls.

Here you can experience 900 years of history spanning the religious aspects, artistic history, educational, and commercial importance of this abbey.

At the museum, you’ll view important works of art, historical books, and scientific instruments dating back to Medieval times and the Early Modern Age.

The guided tour will take you through nine centuries of architectural history: You can admire the Romanic-Gothic church with its baroque ornamentation, the Gothic cloister with its impressive frescos, and the marvelous library main room in the Rococo style.
